PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a battery having excellent rapidly charging and discharging performances and a higher energy density, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having the active material used therein, and a battery pack including the battery.SOLUTION: The active material for a battery comprises a monoclinic complex oxide represented by the formula, LiTiM1NbM2O(0≤x≤5, 0≤y≤1, 0≤z≤2, and 0≤δ≤0.3). In the above formula, M1 is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Zr, Si and Sn; and M2 is at least one element selected from a group consisting of V, Ta and Bi. |
