Provided is an image processing apparatus that searches for points corresponding with each other on a first image and a second image. The image processing apparatus comprises: a window setting means that sets windows for the first image and the second image; a phase information extraction means that extracts phase information by performing frequency decomposition on images contained in the set windows; a corresponding point determining means that determines points corresponding with each other on the first image and the second image by comparing phase information extracted from each of the windows; and a window size control means that causes the window setting means to set windows with different sizes in accordance with the frequency to be used in the calculation of the frequency decomposition. The window size control means causes the window setting means to set a window with a first size for a first frequency, and set a window with a second size smaller than the first size for a second frequency higher than the first frequency.
