SUSPENDED LATTICE FOR ELECTRICAL INTERCONNECTS

PURPOSE: A suspended lattice for electrical interconnects is provided to improve reliability by increasing a junction contact area between a conductive epoxy and a connection point. CONSTITUTION: An electrical interconnect includes a circuit substrate and an electrical connection point (202) on the circuit substrate. The electrical connection point includes a lattice (212) of conductive materials. The lattice is adjacent to a gap in the circuit substrate and has a fixed point attached to the circuit substrate. A conductive epoxy (206) surrounds the lattice of conductive materials. A second electrical connection point (204) is bonded to the other electrical connection point through the conductive epoxy.
