The window lifter has an adjusting element (1) connected with the window pane, by which the window pane is adjusted along the adjustment path. A stop element (2) made of plastic is provided to limit a displacement movement of the adjusting element in a stop position and to define an upper end position of the window pane. A carrier component (T) is provided, on which the stop element is fixed in its stop position. A non-rotation symmetrical form-fitting area defines two different stop positions. The insertion opening is provided, in which the form-fitting area is inserted into two mutually different orientations of the stop element to the carrier component.
