The present invention relates to a largely nickel-free iron alloy and/or a nickel-free stainless steel having the following composition: 4.0-16.5 wt% chromium, 0.0-12.0 wt% manganese, 3.0-4.0 wt% molybdenum, 0.55-0.70 wt% nitrogen, 0.10-0.20 wt% carbon-10, 0.00-2.00 wt% impurities, such as other metals, semi-metals, metal salts and/or non-metals, the remainder is up to 100 wt% iron, said alloy being particularly suitable for producing stents; the invention further relates to stents manufactured from this alloy. |
