PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of supplying toner so that the toner residual amount (toner concentration) in a developing part is securely within a desired range in resuming the developing part from a stop state.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus which comprises: a developing part for storing a developer containing toner and adhering the toner to a photoreceptor to form a toner image; a toner supply part for supplying the toner to the developing part; a toner residual amount detection part for detecting the toner residual amount based on the magnetic permeability of the developer; a control part for determining the necessity of toner supply by the toner supply part by comparing the detection result by a residual amount detection part with a predetermined reference value. The control part compares the detection result by the residual amount detection part with a reference value corrected by a predetermined correction amount based on the drive time after resuming the developing part and the toner supply amount by the toner supply part in a predetermined time period after resuming the developing part from a stop state. |
