PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for communicating commands from a site distant from a laser tracker.SOLUTION: A rule of correspondence is determined between each of a plurality of commands and each of a plurality of temporal patterns. A user selects a command from among the plurality of commands. The user generates a temporal pattern corresponding to the command within a predetermined time. The temporal pattern is generated, e.g., by the user at least partially blocking light from a laser tracker, and at least includes a decrease in the quantity of light emitted from the laser tracker and reflected from a retroreflector and a subsequent increase in the quantity of light. The laser tracker executes the command in accordance with the rule of correspondence determined based on the detected quantity of light. |
