PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and efficiently remove a hardened layer formed on a surface in skin shaving.SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for manufacturing a wire 100 comprises: a supply stand 10 suspending the wire 100 manufactured and wound in the previous process and supplying the wire to a skin shaving process; an SV head 20 constituting the skin shaving process; a belt grinder 30 provided at a downstream side of the skin shaving process and constituting a grinding process; and a winder 40 winding the wire 100 having the ground surface. The belt grinder 30 performs the grinding in a range from the surface of the wire hardened by the skin shaving to a depth of 5 to 25 μm.
