PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop material for an expansion device, which allows a resin foam to be uniformly deformed as much as possible in accordance with the expansion and contraction of the expansion device, and further can maintain the whole top face thereof in a flat shape.SOLUTION: A body 10 of the water stop material comprises the resin foam having open cells. A water stop film 12 is embedded in the body 10 of the water stop material. The water stop film 12 is formed into such a wave shape as to go and return in a vertical direction toward a direction along an expansion and contraction direction of an expansion device 1. A water stop material 5 is arranged in an expansion gap 4 of a web in the expansion device 1. The waved water stop film 12 is expanded and contracted in bellows form with respect to the expansion and contraction of the expansion device 1.
