PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp, excellent in ultraviolet light emission efficiency from a discharge gas, excellent in discharge characteristics such as a discharge starting voltage and a self-sustaining discharge voltage, chemically stable, excellent in oxidation resistance, excellent in sputtering resistance, and enabling power saving.SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp comprises: a discharge space surrounded by glass containing a discharge gas; a discharge electrode; a fluorescence substance, and a mayenite type compound in at least a part of an inner surface which contacts with the discharge gas. The discharge electrode is a metal containing the mayenite type compound produced by sintering. |
