The thickness of the material of the rolled eye 3 of the main leaf 1 of a leaf spring, is increased in relation to the thickness of the leaf proper, by a swaging operation performed after the eye has been rolled. The swaging is carried out by a swage 6 on both sides of the spring to reduce the width from 4 to 4<SP>1</SP> and to increase the thickness of the eye from 2 to 2<SP>1</SP>. |
