PURPOSE: A liquid crystal device and a driving method thereof are provided to made favorable or various indications by including a chiral agent in a liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal device comprises a first substrate (10a), second substrate (10b), and a liquid crystal layer (15). The second substrate faces the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate and comprises a chiral agent. The liquid crystal layer forms different two liquid crystal molecule arrangement.
