CONSTITUTION: A pigment (6) coating method for a material (5) is a method where a moving material is coated by a coating roll (3). The pigment coated on the outside surface of the roller is spread by a doctor roller which is contacted with the coating roll or a doctor blade which is contacted with the coating roll. The coating roll covered with the pigment is rotated at a room temperature and an atmospheric pressure so that the pigment on the coating roll is coated to the moving material. The surface of the doctor coating roll and a doctor roll (2) are coated with hydrophilic DLC layer.
