The iron 1 is a portable apparatus for the controlled delivery of fluid for the conditioning and drying of e.g. fabric. The iron may include resistive and thermic shielding and be pliant upon impact. An electrical energy source 2 such as a rechargeable accumulator or battery may be included to energise a driver member 3. The driver member enables a blower 4 such as a centrifugal pump, a scroll pump or a roots-type compressor to produce a gas flux or flow and channel it through a dispensing soleplate structure 5. A second fluid/flux dispensing means 8 includes a piston 10 and occluding valve 11. The second dispensing means may be used for containment and release of sanitizer or conditioner. |
