The method involves storing an identifier (id1) of an onboard unit (3) and an associated timetable comprising sequence of road segments (a2, a6) with a toll obligation. The OBU identifier and the associated timetable are determined as actual road segments from a schedule database (6). The timetable and the determined actual road segment are found until the next following or next preceding previous radio beacon-equipped road segments. A toll road is determined from an actual road segment and found toll road segments.
