PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarity discrimination device for polar capacitor, capable of facilitating discrimination of the polarity of a polar capacitor, and to provide a characteristic screening system including the same. SOLUTION: The polarity discrimination device 100 for polar capacitor includes: a voltage application section 110 that applies a predetermined voltage pulse to a polar capacitor 50 and a control section 140 that charges or discharges the polar capacitor for a predetermined period, measures voltages of the polar capacitor in a positive direction and reverse direction, and discriminates the polarity of the polar capacitor based on a comparative result of the measured voltages.
