PURPOSE: A method of controlling a light source driver and a device adopting thereof are provided to optimize a read efficiency of an optical disk drive by controlling amplitude of a current in a HFM circuit according to a temperature change of an optical pickup device. CONSTITUTION: A method of controlling a light source driver and a device adopting thereof comprise the following steps: a light source driver (6) generates a driving current about a light source (21) of an optical pickup device (2); a high frequency modulation (HFM) circuit (7) generates a high frequency modulation component for a modulation of the driving current; the light source driver modulates the driving current by using the high frequency component; the light source driver supplies the modulated driving current to the light source; and the HFM circuit controls a swing or amplitude of the high frequency component according to 'a temperature of the optical pickup device detected from a temperature detector (8).
