It also relates to a device comprising a substrate (401) having a first surface (402); a first layer (403) comprising said MAP, said first layer being arranged on said first surface, and a second layer (404) comprising a first plurality of particles attached to at least a portion of said MAP of said first layer. The present invention is based on the realization that a MAP can advantageously be used to immobilize particles on a substrate, for example in a layer-by-layer assembly.
