<p>PURPOSE: A magnetic cooling device and a control method thereof are provided to include a magnet, magnetic regenerators, and a control unit and to control a current supplied to a coil, thereby controlling moving directions and the velocity of the magnetic regenerators. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic cooling device includes a magnet (306), magnetic regenerators (302,304), and a control unit (308). The magnet forms a magnetic field. The magnetic regenerator includes magnetocaloric substances and obtains kinetic energy through electromechanical power generated when a current is supplied to a coil installed on the magnetic regenerator. The control unit controls the current supplied to the coil, thereby controlling moving directions and the velocity of the magnetic regenerators.
