<p>The present invention relates to a trenching device for digging trenches in a soil surface, preferably a sand surface, in particular a trench device adapted to facilitate the installation of cables such as an optical fiber, and a method of digging a trench wherein use is made of a trenching device. In particular, the trenching device comprises a vehicle body which is movable in a vehicle direction; and a trenching tool; and a mounting structure provided between the vehicle body and the trenching tool. According to the invention, the trenching tool comprises one or more bristles, rotatable by a horizontal drive shaft about a horizontal rotation axis defined by the drive shaft, and wherein the trenching tool is of the type operable to dig a trench by rotating the one or more bristles.</p> |
