PURPOSE: A method of constructing a pressable weed-proofing mat installed at a roadside of an existing structure is provided to prevent a lifting of a weed-proofing mat and a fault of a connection junction. CONSTITUTION: A method of constructing a pressable weed-proofing mat installed at a roadside of an existing structure comprises the following steps: a weed-proofing mat (10A,10B) equipped with a guard rail post insertion hole is prepared for; a block bar for fixing an inner side and an outside mat is connected to both end parts of the weed-proofing mat to a longitudinal direction; an inner side and outside valleys (5a, 5b) are formed in a slope side and a position contacting with a road boundary stone; after a block bar for fixing a mat is located in the position, a roadside and a slope side are covered up with the weed-proofing mat by fixing the block bar to a ground; a divided mat fixing ring (20) is inserted into a mat hole for bonding a post, and the mat is fixed on the ground; and the mat fixing ring has a ring flange, a ring cylindrical portion, and a ring fixing pin.
