The method involves providing one integrated circuit (IC)(3) with 2 wiring planes (6,10). A second IC is applied to one of the wiring planes (10), so that its input terminals are connected to contact surfaces providing output signals. The first IC incorporates a microprocessor or microcontroller. The second IC incorporates driver circuits and/or channel memories for in-circuit-emulation coupled to the microprocessor or microcontroller registers.
