<p>A bearing alloy consists of: Pb more than 2,5-40 per cent; Si 0,1-6 per cent; Cu the remainder. The alloy may also contain: As or Sb 0,1-5 per cent; Ti and/or S 0,1-2 per cent; Al 0,1-5 per cent; Cd and/or Zn 0,1-10 per cent, provided that when Zn is the only optional constituent present the Pb content is greater than 7,5 per cent; one or more of Fe, Mn, Ni, Co 0,1-less than 5 per cent, provided that the Pb content is greater than 10 per cent unless Cd or Zn are also present. When no Fe, Mn, Ni and Co is present in the alloy, it may also contain; P 0,01-5 per cent; either K or Na 0,01-1 per cent or Ca, Ba or Mg 0,01-2 per cent; Li 0,01-1 per cent, provided Cd or Zn are present; Sn 0,01-15 per cent, provided that at least one of Cd, Al, Na or As is present and that the Pb content is greater than 5 per cent. The alloy may be heat treated by quenching from 300 DEG -900 DEG C. and ageing at 50 DEG -500 DEG C. for 1-30 hours.</p> |
