The invention relates to a transmission (1) for a motor vehicle, having - a hydrodynamic converter (9), which comprises a turbine wheel (10), a pump wheel (12) and a guide wheel (11), in a first power branch; - a lockup clutch (16) for the hydrodynamic converter; - a second power branch (17) connected to the lockup clutch and in parallel with the hydrodynamic converter; - a rotary vibration damper (15); - a connection of the two power branches between the turbine wheel and the second power branch. The invention is characterized in that the connection between the turbine wheel and the second power branch is formed on the primary side of the rotary vibration damper, and the connection has a freewheel (18).
