Display device for selecting cosmetic products using an association between words and colours

A display device for selecting themes for use in a spa or beauty treatment wherein each of the possible themes is represented by a word and each word is associated with a colour represented on the device. The association of a word with a colour may be determined by supplying to a population sample a list of words and a set of colour samples; requiring each member of the population sample to choose independently a colour from the set of colour samples for each word in the list; and associating each word in the list with the colour most frequently chosen in the population sample. The device may comprise a colour chart 10 on which the colours are displayed and a transparent film 16 adapted to be positioned over the colour chart on which the words 18 are displayed. Alternatively the display device may comprise a set of rods (20, Fig 2) where all or part of the rod is coloured with a separate colour and a word associated with the colour of the rod is printed.
