This patent describes the invention of a series of novel therapeutic oligonucleotide polymers targeted at inhibiting expression of genes coding for Phosphodiesterase 4. They are useful as analytical tools in the study of individual PDE isoforms and in the therapeutic treatment of depression, thrombosis, cystic fibrosis, gastric lesions, pulmonary hypertension, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, atopic dermatitis, asthma and other allergic disorders as well as other illnesses in which an increase of cyclic AMP or a decrease in phosphodiesterase levels is useful.
