The present invention relates to a ginseng-derived CYP716A47 gene which is involved in protopanaxadiol biosynthesis. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition or recombinant vector, including a ginseng-derived CYP716A47 protein and CYP716A47 coding gene, for stimulating protopanaxadiol biosynthesis, to a transformant transformed together with plasmid using the composition, and to a method for increasing the production of protopanaxadiol by increasing the expression of the gene. The ginseng-derived CYP716A47 gene according to the present invention, which is involved in protopanaxadiol biosynthesis, can be effectively used for the mass synthesis of protopanaxadiol, or used for increasing the biosynthesis of protopanaxadiol-based ginseng saponin. |
