PURPOSE: A motor case for a vacuum cleaner is provided to reduce the weight of the motor case by forming an inner upper case with plastic materials and an outer upper case with materials having high sound absorption performance. CONSTITUTION: A motor case for a vacuum cleaner comprises an inner lower case (10), an inner upper case (20), an outer lower case (30), and an outer upper case (40). The inner lower case comprises a motor (11), a shaft (12), an impeller (13), an air discharge hole (14), and a protruded part (15). The inner upper case is formed of a synthetic resin material and comprises an air intake port (21), a diffuser (22), a resonance hole (23), and a protrusion (24). The protrusion of the inner upper case is placed on the protruded part. The inner lower case is arranged inside the outer lower case. The outer upper case comprises an outer skin layer (41) formed of aluminum thin plates; first to third mat layers (42,43,44) formed of glass fiber mats; and an inner skin layer (45) formed of felts.
