A person based home network system and a control method thereof are provided to supply a customized service such as a customized voice service or a lighting and scheduling service by recognizing personal tastes or life patterns of home members when an individual of home members returns home. A person based home network system comprises a door lock(10), an RG(Residential Gateway)(20), an HOMS(Home network Management Server)(30), and a home network device(40). The RG requests authentication by transmitting fingerprint information, transmitted from the door lock, to the HOMS. If the authentication performed, the RG transmits a door open control signal and a control signal for operating the home network device based on a person. The RG controls each device operation state of the home network device, and provides the control result to the HOMS. The HOMS receives the authentication request together with the fingerprint information from the RG and searches a member fingerprint database. If there is the same fingerprint as the fingerprint information, the HOMS transmits an authentication signal. By receiving each device operation state of the home network device and event information, the HOMS records and manages the received information. |
