An ion generator of an air-conditioning system for vehicle is provided to prevent continuous operation and minimize unnecessary energy consumption by operating only in the place where the air pollution is serious. An ion generator of an air-conditioning system for vehicle comprises an outside air mode sensing unit(50) sensing whether an intake door(15) is in an outside air mode, a driving position sensing unit(60) sensing the driving position of the vehicle, and a controller(70) which turns on the ion generator when the vehicle enters into a specific area and turns off the ion generator when the vehicle leaves the specific area, based on the signal input from the outside air mode sensing unit and driving position sensing unit. |
