An apparatus and a method for enhancing a radiation characteristic in a folder-type portable terminal are provided to prevent deterioration in an antenna radiation characteristic in advance by activating additional antenna radiators according to the opening or closing of a folder. An apparatus for enhancing a radiation characteristic in a folder-type portable terminal comprises a main body, a folder, a main antenna radiator(25), and a slave antenna radiator(35). The folder is opened or closed at a regular angle from the main body. The main antenna radiator(25), installed in the main body, is electrically connected with an RF(Radio Frequency) board. The slave antenna radiator(35) is installed in the folder. The slave antenna radiator(35) is arranged so as to face the main antenna radiator(25) when the folder is folded with the main body. |
