PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling an advertising module is provided to display user data that is received in a built-in communication chip of a mobile terminal together with advertisement data, thereby easily performing self-advertisement. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling an advertising module comprises a communication chip (111) which receives at least one of user data and a control signal from a transmitting terminal through a mobile communication network; and a central processing unit (CPU) (113) which displays at least one of advertisement data transmitted from an advertisement server and the received user data through a display unit, and controls power of the display unit according to the control signal.
