PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film providing preferable production suitability and excellent haze prevention, and a polarizer and a liquid-crystal display excellent in contrast using the same.SOLUTION: The retardation film contains cellulose acetate and a sugar ester compound of a disaccharide, where (1) the degree of acetyl group substitution of the cellulose acetate is in the range from 2.00 to 2.64, the degree of molecular weight dispersion Mw/Mn is in the range from 2.5 to 8.0, the degree of 6-position substitution is in the range from 0.65 to 0.85, the acetylation degree distribution half-width is in the range from 1.0 to 2.3, and the degree of viscosity average polymerization is in the range from 180 to 220, as well as (2) the sugar ester compound of the disaccharide is represented by the specified general formula (1) and the degree of average ester substitution of the sugar ester compound of the disaccharide is in the range from 4.0 to 6.0. |
