PURPOSE: A soft iron-based powder and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture a compressed powder core with excellent magnetic property by lowering the coercive force. CONSTITUTION: Soft iron oxide-based powder is reduced and thermal-treated to obtain soft iron-based powder. The mean diameter of the soft-iron based powder is over 100 μm. An interfacial density calculated by a below equation 1 is 2.6×10^-2 μm^-1 or less (not including 0μm^-1).
