PURPOSE: A collision safety control device for a vehicle and a method thereof are provided to prevent a steering wheel and a face of a passenger from being collided before the expansion of an airbag and to prevent pressure of the airbag from decreasing under predetermined pressure when the face of the passenger collides with the steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: A collision safety control device (1) comprises an image acquiring device (3), a seat position detecting device (5), an image processing device (7), and an airbag pressure control device (9). The image acquiring device comprises a camera (11) and a projector (13). The camera acquires images including a face of a driver and outputs an image signal to the image processing device. The projector radiates light to the face of the driver. The seat position detecting device detects a position of a driver seat and outputs a detection result to the airbag pressure control device. The airbag pressure control device controls the pressure in an airbag (101) when impact on a vehicle is detected.
