PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule holding member which certainly holds a ferrule and to which attachment and detachment of the ferrule are easily performed, and an optical connector.SOLUTION: A housing 10 of an optical connector 1 includes: first to third cylindrical parts 11-13 which have storage spaces for storing at least a part of the opposite side ferrule 3 attached to a terminal of an optical fiber 30 inside; and an engagement member 14 which has an engagement part 143 which regulates relative movement of the opposite side ferrule 3 with the first to third cylindrical parts 11-13 by engagement into a recess 32a of the opposite side ferrule 3, in which the first cylindrical part 11 has a continuous hole 110d for communicating its storage space 11 s to the outside, and the engagement part 143 has an engagement projection 142 which is inserted into the continuous hole 143 from the outer peripheral side of the first cylindrical part 11 to engage into the recess 32a of the opposite side ferrule 3. |
