PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press machine smoothly performing vertical movement of a ram, in the press machine performing vertical movement of the ram by rotating a nut member and a screw member.SOLUTION: In the press machine of the type for vertically moving the ram by rotation of the screw member, a lower end of the screw member 19 is provided by being integrally engaged with inner rings 65I, 67I of bearings 65, 67 whose outer rings 65O, 67O are integrally engaged within a bearing holder 69 provided on the ram 17, a micro gap C allowing relative rotation is provided between a lower surface 75 of the screw member 19 and a bottom surface 77 of the bearing holder 69, and the micro gap C is set to such a space that when a load acts on the ram 17 to generate relative and slight vertical movement between the inner rings 65I, 67I and the outer rings 65O, 67O of the bearings 65, 67, contact of the lower surface 75 of the screw member 19 with the bottom surface 77 of the bearing holder 69 occurs. |
