PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for performing a characteristic evaluation test of a gas meter, which can perform characteristic evaluation tests of various sorts of gas meters by reproducing pulsation of an arbitrary waveform by a compact device.SOLUTION: One end of a pipeline 3 whose the other end is closed is connected to the downstream side of a gas meter G and a gas with an arbitrary pressure waveform is supplied to the upstream side of the gas meter G by a pressure control device 2. Accordingly, the pipeline 3 connected to the downstream side of the gas meter G is closed; and therefore, a reflection wave corresponding to the capacity and shape of the pipeline 3 is generated relative to the arbitrary pressure waveform supplied by the pressure control device 2, and a characteristic evaluation test including an influence of the reflection wave when the arbitrary pressure waveform is supplied to the gas meter can be performed. |
