PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing seat for an automobile capable of absorbing a rear end collision shock stepwise in a first stage and a second stage, reducing a bottoming feeling of a seated person in a collision, and further securing safety.SOLUTION: In a shock absorbing seat, when a load input into a seat back B from an upper body of an occupant in a collision exceeds the rigidity of a first shock absorbing material 6, the first shock absorbing material 6 is deformed accompanied by the movement of connecting pins 7, 8 in circular arc long holes 3a, 4a to determine first stage shock absorption. Subsequently, the connecting pins 7, 8 moving in the circular arc long holes 3a, 4a deform a second shock absorbing material 9 to determine second stage shock absorption when the load pressing the second shock absorbing material 9 is engaged to a second shock absorbing material 9 and the load pressing the second shock absorbing material 9 exceeds the rigidity of the second shock absorbing material 9. |
