PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the setting of a repeating device such as a repeater.SOLUTION: A repeating device includes: a radio communication unit for performing radio communication between a first radio communication apparatus and a second radio communication apparatus; and a repeating unit for repeating a radio signal with the first radio communication apparatus and the second radio communication apparatus via the radio communication unit. The repeating device measures a communication state between the first radio communication apparatus and the radio communication unit and a communication state between the second radio communication apparatus and the radio communication unit, performs initial setting communication to perform setting to be required for the start of radio communication with the first radio communication apparatus in accordance with a measurement result concerning the communication state with the first radio communication apparatus, and performs initial setting communication to perform setting to be required for the start of radio communication with the second radio communication apparatus in accordance with a measurement result concerning the communication state with the second radio communication apparatus.
