PURPOSE: A system for changing a web page into an electronic book and a method thereof are provided to increase readability of a user by extracting main contents from the web page displayed by a smart terminal and then displaying the extracted main contents in an electronic document type, and to enable the user to move a position of desired contents rapidly and easily through flip operation of the electronic book type document. CONSTITUTION: An application displays a received web page on a display (S21). The application discriminates main contents corresponding to main substance by analyzing a web page file (S22). The application displays the region of the main contents on the web page in the screen (S23). The application converts the established main contents region into an electronic book format (S24). The application displays the contents of the converted electronic book file in the screen according to the display attribute by referring to environment setting information of a user (S25). The application provides file management service like inquiry, name change, delete and search of the electronic book contents file stored in a local storage area or a web storage area by the request of the user (S26).
