PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can properly determine whether an inputted image is a vivid scene or not for both a subject in a bright place and a subject in a night scene.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: an image processing unit 108 which performs image processing for an input image; a point light source detection unit 113 which detects a point light source included in the input image; a scene determination unit 114 which determines whether the input image is a vivid scene or not on the basis of a detection result by the point light source detection unit and an image signal of the input image; a control unit 115 which controls the image processing unit so as to change the image processing for the input image according to a determination result by the scene determination unit. |
