PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean local contamination on a charging device.SOLUTION: A cleaning device 70 includes: a cleaning member 84 which reciprocates between one end side and the other end side of a member 64 for electric discharge of a charging device 60 while contacting with the member 64 for electric discharge to clean the member 64 for electric discharge; driving means 78 which reciprocates the cleaning member 84 in a longitudinal direction of the member 64 for electric discharge; detecting means 54 which detects an output value of current or voltage applied to the driving means 78 when the cleaning member 84 is moved from the one end side to the other end side of the member 64 for electric discharge; recognizing means 56 which recognizes a position where an output value higher than a threshold value set with reference to an average value of the output values detected by the detecting means 54 is detected, as a recleaning position for the member 64 for electric discharge; and control means 58 which, when the cleaning member 84 is moved again to the recleaning position recognized by the recognizing means 56, controls the driving means 78 so as to reciprocate the cleaning member 84 in a specific area including the recleaning position for a plurality of times. |
