PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient lateral solar cell structure having optimal bandgap properties, and a fabrication method thereof.SOLUTION: A subcell component 100 of a multijunction solar cell includes a p-type back surface field 112, an absorber region 114, an n-type emitter region 116, an n-type window 118, and an optionally additional n-type emitter layer (n-type emitter #2) 117. The n-type emitter region 116 comprises a plurality of nanorods 116 extending into the absorber region 114. The n-type emitter region 116 and the nanorods 116 are formed of Group III-V alloys. |
