PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method for producing a metal molybdenum coating film, which forms a metal molybdenum coating film excellent in adhesion and film strength and high in conductivity using a low cost and simple coating method; and a metal molybdenum coating film obtained by the method.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a metal molybdenum coating film, a metal molybdenum coating film is formed through: a coating step of forming a coating film on a heat resistant substrate using an organic molybdenum compound-containing coating liquid for forming a metal molybdenum coating film; a drying step of drying the coating film to form a dried coating film; and a heating and reduction step of mineralizing and reducing the dried coating film through heat treatment to form a metal film containing metal molybdenum as a main component. By the method, a metal fine particle layer in which metal fine particles containing metal molybdenum as a main component are filled densely is formed.
