PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cycle characteristic of a molten salt battery.SOLUTION: The method for charging a molten salt battery with a molten salt used as an electrolyte comprises the step of restricting an SOC value at the time of completion of charging according to a service temperature. Specifically, the SOC value is relatively decreased as the service temperature lowers. For instance, SOC is restricted to 95% or smaller at a service temperature of 90°C or higher, 90% or smaller at a service temperature of 80°C or higher and below 90°C, and 80% or smaller at a service temperature of 70°C or higher and below 80°C.
