PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accepting a selection from a user whether a non-genuine expendable item is used, and of preventing increase of management load by a maker of the image forming apparatus when the user selects the usage of the non-genuine expendable item.SOLUTION: An image formation part 103 forms an image, and a genuine product determination part 101a determines whether or not an expendable item for the image formation part 103 is a genuine product. When the genuine product determination part 101a determines that the expendable item is the non-genuine product, an operation part 102a accepts a setting whether or not the non-genuine expendable item is used. A communication part 104 transmits via a network N the setting information received by the operation part 102a to a maintenance information management device 200 for managing maintenance information. |
