PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of further effectively using capacity of an HDD and processing speed performance.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 of the present invention includes: a storage device unit 61a that includes a disk-shaped recording medium having an inner peripheral-side storage area and an outer peripheral-side storage area provided on an outer peripheral side of the inner peripheral-side storage area, and holds a file of image data in the disk-shaped storage medium; and a control unit 67 that detects the usage frequency of the file held in the outer peripheral-side storage area, and moves a file with the lowest usage frequency in the outer peripheral-side storage area to the inner peripheral-side storage area.
