PURPOSE: A power supply device using a secondary battery and a method for changing charging/discharging mode of the power supply device are provided to improve energy efficiency, by using another secondary battery as a power source of a load during charging operation. CONSTITUTION: An inverter (30) delivers a DC output voltage of a secondary battery to a load. A relay (10) connects the secondary battery in a discharge mode to the inverter. The relay connects a secondary battery in a different mode from the discharge mode to the inverter. A control unit (20) controls switching operation of the relay. The control unit supplies power of more than two secondary batteries to the load in turn.
