PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of suppressing a frequency of the start/stop of a heat pump or the switching of a heating capacity, relating to a heater which utilizes the heat pump which absorbs heat from an atmosphere as a heat source.SOLUTION: A heater disclosed in the specification includes a heat pump which absorbs heat from an atmosphere and heats a heat medium, a tank which stores the heat medium, a heat storage circulation path which circulates the heat medium between the heat pump and the tank, a heating terminal which radiates heat from the heat medium for heating, a heat radiation circulation path which circulates the heat medium between the heating terminal and the tank, and a tank thermistor which detects a temperature of the heat medium stored in the tank. The heating capacity of the heat pump in the heater can be switched stepwise. In the heater, when heating is performed at the heating terminal while the heat pump is driven, a heating capacity of the heat pump is switched based on the temperature detected by the tank thermistor. |
